As we approach Easter, we want to do more than simply celebrate the resurrection—we want to see lives transformed by the love and hope of Jesus! To prepare our hearts and align with God’s mission, we’re launching a 50 + Day Prayer Plan leading up to Easter Sunday.
For the next several weeks, we’ll focus on specific prayer themes that will guide us as we seek God’s presence, serve our community, and invite others to experience the life-changing power of Jesus.
The Whitefish Church of The Nazarene Prayer Plan
Theme: "Preparing Our Hearts to Serve & Invite"
Week 1: Personal Renewal & Consecration
Scripture Focus: Psalm 51:10 – "Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me."
Prayer Points:

Ask God to purify our hearts and align us with His will.

Pray for a renewed passion for Jesus and the Gospel.

Pray for personal boldness and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit in inviting others to church.

Confess any fears or hesitations about evangelism and ask God for courage.
Week 2: Praying for Our Community
Scripture Focus: Jeremiah 29:7 – "Seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper."

Pray for the needs of our local community (be specific about neighborhoods, schools, and businesses).

Intercede for people struggling with loneliness, addiction, poverty, or brokenness.

Week 3: Praying for Our Church Family
Scripture Focus: John 13:35 – "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

Ask God to strengthen and encourage church leaders, volunteers, and staff.

Pray for new members and visitors to feel welcomed and connected.

Week 4: Praying for Those We Will Invite
Scripture Focus: Luke 14:23 – "Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full."

Week 5: Boldness in Evangelism & Serving the Community
Scripture Focus: Acts 1:8 – "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses…"

Ask God to give us boldness and confidence to share our faith.

Holy Week (Final Week Leading to Easter)
Each day, focus on a different aspect of Jesus’ final days on earth.

Palm Sunday: Pray for people to recognize Jesus as their King (Matthew 21:9).

Monday: Pray for cleansing of hearts and spiritual renewal (Mark 11:15-17).

Tuesday: Pray for wisdom and discernment (Mark 12:30-31).

Wednesday: Pray for those experiencing betrayal or broken relationships (Luke 22:3-6).

Thursday (Maundy Thursday): Pray for humility and servant-hearted love (John 13:14-15).

Friday (Good Friday): Reflect on the sacrifice of Jesus and pray for those who need salvation (Isaiah 53:5).

Saturday (Holy Saturday): Pray for those in seasons of waiting, trusting in God's promises.

Practical Steps for the Church Family:

Prayer Walks – Walk through neighborhoods, praying for homes and families.

Prayer Cards – Create a list of people to pray for daily.

Fasting & Prayer – Dedicate a specific day each week to fast and pray for our community.

Encourage Testimonies – Share stories of answered prayers to inspire faith.
