Shield-a-badge
Whitefish Police Department (WPD) “Shield A Badge” is a community ministry holding up our officers and staff in prayer, asking God to protect them from the many dangers and challenges they face serving our community. It is meant to encourage and support to our officers, staff, and their families, while praying for a Divine “SHIELD” of protection over them.
Each “Shield A Badge” Prayer Partner commits to daily prayer for one year for an assigned department member (and their families), asking for the SAFETY, GOOD JUDGMENT, and A SAFE RETURN HOME at the end of their shift. No prescribed prayer or wording is required.
Currently, all WPD officers participate.
Prayer Partners occasionally send notes, postcards, or email to his/her assigned officer or staff member letting them know you are their “Shield A Badge” Prayer Partner and are praying for them daily. Communication with the officer should be brief, positive, and encouraging. Seasonal, birthday or special remembrances are encouraged (IMPORTANT: no gifts!) Send a brief email to Chaplain Kent Morrison (truelife@yahoo.com) whenever correspondence is sent to an officer to help Chaplains to know who is being “shielded.”
