Imagine a morning breeze wafting in through an open window. The cool air brushes your face, invigorating you with its freshness. This is the freshness we all crave - not just physically, but spiritually as well. We yearn for fresh perspective, passion, and faith to breathe new life into our souls.
But this freshness cannot be bought or manufactured. It comes from one source alone: the presence of God. As we wait on Him, opening our hearts and minds, His Spirit renews us. The prophet Isaiah said it best: "They who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength."
In this hustling world, it's easy to rush past the stillness of God's presence, relying on counterfeits to revive us. But outward freshness soon fades. Lasting renewal starts from within. As Charles Spurgeon wrote, "We should pray to God that we may do everything freshly."
So amid the frenzy of life, purpose to wait on Jesus daily. Ask Him to fill you afresh with His Spirit - for fresh faith, passion, enthusiasm and perspective. Then watch as His life spills out into everything you do. Allow His fresh presence to transform you in new and glorious ways!
Romans 12:1-2 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Isaiah 40:31 but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Psalms 51:10-12 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.
Lamentations 3:22-23 The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
